Healing power of positivity

There have been several studies that show that optimism and pessimism can affect many areas of your health and well-being. Thoughts have power. Words have power. They encourage, heal, comfort, criticize, and hurt; it all depends on how they are used.

Our emotions affect our brain chemistry. Negativity creates chronic stress, which upsets the body’s hormone balance, depletes the brain chemicals required for happiness, and damages the immune system. On the other hand, a positive outlook creates health benefits like lower blood pressure, less heart disease, better weight control, and healthier blood sugar levels. Even when faced with an incurable disease, a positive mindset and thoughts can improve one’s quality of life. Positive outlooks have been shown to help depression, improve your immune system, shorten healing and recovery times, and even improve the prognosis of cancer patients.

Masaru Emoto was a scientist who conducted experiments by exposing water to various words, images, or music then freezing the water and examining the frozen crystals under a microscope. He showed that water exposed to positivity created aesthetically beautiful crystals while ones with negative exposure produced harsh looking crystals. Emoto stated that water was a “blueprint for our reality” and that emotional energy could change its structure. The theory states water, which has a crystalline structure, acts as a recorder…so water holds memory. Most Indigenous cultures recognize the sacredness of our water, the interconnectedness of all life, and believe water is the giver of all life. Why is this important? Our bodies are 60% water, our brains are 75% water. If positivity can be shown to make such a marked impact on water crystals, imagine the difference it can make in our bodies.

Dr. Joe Dispenza has conducted many studies with thousands of people in regards to how positive energy affects the mind, body, and soul. He has reported many success stories about people healing themselves by maintaining a state of elevated emotions, such as love, joy, or gratitude.
